Pray for me as recently a job offer was rescinded on May 10, 2019, as the hiring manager was uncomfortable of me as asking questions about the offer letter of employment. My parents whom I told the offer to encouraged me to ask questions about the job offer (which I had the absolute and legal right to do so) which there was confusion in the letter and spelling errors in the letter. The company’s name is Alchimie Forever (Alchimie - Forever dot com) which is a skincare cosmetic company and the CEO’s name is Ada Polla (a Harvard graduate and is from Switzerland. She is married to an individual who is 15 to 20 years older than her and she’s only 42 years of age). Her company is based in her single-family home – her personal, private residence where she lives (I was able to verify this through public records and voting records) which means the company is based straight from her home, and the company has three employees. I have no desire to work with them and will never ever work with them as there were some things I was not told about the job and Alchimie Forever that I should have been truly told about in the hiring process. Also, the company and the job itself which was just an office assistant job had no health insurance of any kind and no overtime pay. The CEO is the boss did not want me to continue my job searching and seek employment in my real career field which is television journalism. I am thankful that God did not allow me to work for Alchimie Forever as all Ms. Polla truly only cares about herself and making her life easier, selling skincare products (which she does not actually make), and her skincare empire. She doesn’t care about the employees. There were red flags in the interview process, the company, and the way the job offer was rescinded. I was intending to turn down the job as there was no over-time pay. The entire job hiring experience process with Alchimie Forever happened very fast and very quickly. I pray for God to keep me away from companies like Alchimie Forever which are one-person companies. I have reported my experience with Alchimie Forever on Glassdoor dot com and Indeed dot com to warn and educate job seekers as Alchimie Forever had no profile on Glassdoor dot com.
I was encouraged and suggested by the founder of CareerContessa for me to share this incident and questions for CareerContessa’s podcast hotline, “The Femail” which is geared towards job seekers and women. I personally reached out to her and will be sharing this real-life job incident and another real-life job incident I had in January 2019 to CareerContessa’s podcast very soon this month.
