"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:2 (KJV)*********"I ENTERED PUBLIC EDUCATION AS a teacher. That first year almost killed me. The principal put me in charge of a fourth-grade class with forty students. Each child was a chatterbox. Every last one was a like a wiggly worm and required classroom-management skill s that I did not have. I was given a veteran teacher to serve as my mentor. The principal sent me to workshops to help me organize my classroom. Even with additional help, I left work each day in tears. ** I was a young woman in my early twenties. My relationship with the Lord was a fickle one at the time. However, I had the good sense to cry out to Jesus in my distress, and He revealed His love for me in Romans 8:1. Despite my immaturity and wavering relationship with Him, I read in the Word that there was no condemnation for me as a believer. There in the book of Romans, the apostle Paul also went on to say that despite my challenges and trouble, nothing could separate me from the Lord's love. And what did I do? I grabbed on to that love and survived a school year that was plagued with flying spitballs, hacky sacks, and paper airplanes. ***Jesus held my hand, and He protected my mind and emotions during that first year of teaching. My feeble efforts should have ended in complete failure. But like a strong tower, the Lord sheltered and shielded me. You have this same assurance. Today the Lord will rise up and be a rock for you in the face of what appears to be a crumbling situation.
