In gratitude to the Passiionists
DOING WHAT IS RIGHT - Gift us O God, with a spirit that always contemplates what is right, what is good, what is worthy, what is decent, what is honorable, what is of value, the goodness, within ourselves and others. Help us to treat all we meet in the same way we want to be treated. Grace us with patience when we are not. Enliven us with trust in you so that we will always have the strength to ask, seek and knock. Knowing that if we do, we will always be given, we will always find, and the door will always be open! Amen!

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10: 24-25(NIV)*********"MY THIRTEEN YEAR-OLD SON, PIERCE, IS a natural athlete. As his bookish mom I've had a lot to learn. Initially going to practices and games was purely a labor of love, though I enjoyed watching my son enjoy himself. Over time, I've come to appreciate sports teach, including the power of positive encouragement. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in baseball.***The batter swings and misses, the crowd screams, "Good cut." A play is a disaster of errors. Parents holler, "Shake it off!" the batter hits a foul ball. Viewers shout, "Good contact!" praising the fact that the bat hit the ball at all. This isn't always the case, but many coaches, parents, and fans find a way to discern the positive in even the worst performance, knowing that if the players lose confidence or get negative, their performance will decline.***Likewise, Jesus's interactions with even the "worst" of sinners always sought to lovingly restore them, even as He confronted their sin. The woman at the well, the adulteress, the apostles, and Peter in particular...Jesus's endgame was never to condemn, but o lovingly correct and instruct. He'd have been a great coach. Like Jesus, I cannot only seek to affirm others, but must do the same for myself, extending loving encouragement as Jesus did." --ISABELLA YOSUICO*******"FAITH STEP: Try to identify the positive in something apparently negative. If someone makes a mistake, share words of encouragement, in the spirit of Jesus."
