As a new day is born, I come to Your feet my God and Father, to thank You for the love which You keep showering on my family and me, and for the blessings that come from Your abundance. Abbā, take my silent periods throughout the day as praises meant to give glory to Your holy and divine name. God, in Jesus’ name, I pray for those living in darkness but are not blind. Help them follow Jesus, the One True Light of this world. He promises that whoever follows Him will have the light of life. Amen.

Dear God, Thank you so much for all your blessings. Please also bless and give our family strength with what we’re going through especially my husband and son. Please bless that everything will work out for the better for the both of them and our family. Continue to keep our family safe. Also, please bless that everything will continue to be well with my daughter and also my mom, dad and aunt for a speedy recovery. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, please bless us all affected and give us all strength during this challenging time. Prat for the attacks against the Catholic Church to stop. Pray for people to stop trying to destroy the American way of life. Pray for people to realize that violence is wrong, that socialism is wrong, that bad people are influencing them and trying to control the fate of our freedom. Pray for peace. Amen.

When my parents were going through their divorce, I was experiencing my own lonely descent into low self-esteem and depression. I was hurting; consequently. I lashed out at the person who was closest to me, my mother. I couldn't empathize with her pain, and I didn't think she cared about mine. Once I was saved, Jesus showed me how to honor my parents even though He was their Savior. He followed their commandments and was accountable to them. Jesus didn't say to honor your parents unless they hurt you, He simply said to honor them.****Understanding that honoring my parents is meaningful to Jesus helped me to be more respectful toward my mother, even when we disagreed. Today, we enjoy a close relationship. I honor her for all the sacrifices she made and continues to make for me.**As He was agonizingly stretched out on the cross at the crucifixion, Jesus made sure His mother, Mary, would be cared for. Jesus told John and His mother, "Dear woman, here is your son." And he said to his disciple, "Here is your mother" (John 19: 26-27, NLT). John took her to his home. Even in His most distressing time, Jesus honored His mother. In honoring our parents, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, and His love."
