for all the ethnocentric, xenophobic, racist, genderist, falsely indoctrinated, intolerant, weapon wielding, idolators of wealth, greedy, and mentally ill politicos and their ill-minded supporters that have continued to oppose the good of the nation and the world and its ecology in recent years. among them are Christians and clergy and adherents of Islam, Judaism and other religions. may God have mercy on them, enlighten their minds, inspire them to grow compassion, and grant them peace. may they turn away from ignorance and arrogance and find understanding and love. and may God help lighten the burden of pain and depression i feel as i observe the condition and development of the human species and its effect on the rest of creation and on itself. covid has not brought us closer, but may those who have passed on, or suffer[ed] physically or mentally from its effects be lifted in grace. i know the site administrators may not approve this prayer as they may fear its possible offensiveness to some but my conscience in my old age demands of me that i make it.
