PREPARING FOR A NEW DAY - O God, be in our moments of rest today and give us what we need so that as this day takes its course and we encounter moments of stress, strain, struggle and effort we might also find your peace. And when evening comes and we look back over this day and we see how fragmentary everything seems to be, and how our plans have not fully been accomplished. Help us to take everything exactly as it is, putting everything in your hands, leaving our life with you, knowing that it is good! Then in your peace may we find rest, real rest in you and rise refreshed to begin our next day of new life in you. Amen!

Dear Father Beck: I am a long time viewer and supporter of The Sunday Mass, and I thank you and all the brothers of the Passionist Community for this wonderful service to God. I have come down with a very serious pneumonia, which together with its complications leave me in great pain and disability. Please pray that my grandson, who is a sargent in the Army, won't have to return to Afghanistan. He has served in Iraq and Afghanistan - I fear for his safety. Please forgive my selfishness, but I pray that he won't ever have to leave the good old U.S.A. ever again. Please pray for my two daughters: Lori, because she needs to clean up her life and start living a decent one and find happiness; find a good paying job; and be a better loving mother to her daughter, Allie; Robin, that she will continue working at her job, find happiness and be a better mom to her daughter, Taylor. That both daughters renew their faith and start going to church again. Please also pray for my 2 granddaughters (age 13 each) that they will accept the Lord into their lives and stay away from the wrong kind of people. In the Lord's name, I pray. Amen

Please pray for the safe arrival of my son who is flying in from California on December 18th to spend Christmas with me and his brother. It will be the 2nd Christmas without my husband Louis since his passing in January 2008. As part of the movement to have Fulton Sheen canonized, many people are working to have masses said for his canonization on December 9th. One family that I know hopes that Fulton Sheen's spirit will intervene for them and grant a miraculous cure for the cancer from which the dad, Terry O'Leary of Walton, NY, is suffering. We would like to request that, if possible, an appeal for Terry could be made on that day.
God thank you for ansering my last request and thank you all for praying. Please pray that the other sections of my department come up to 100 perceent on their own and all our patient loads increase. God does answer prayer. Please pray my son matures and gets into a police academy in a good town.

My husband is very ill with a disease that mimicks Parkinsons. There is no medication and/or cure for this debilitating disease. The only thing that will cure him and/or help him is the intervention of Jesus. Please pray for my husband. Thank you. For me, please pray for peace in my soul. I am starting to have doubts regarding my Faith. I am so afraid of this but I don't know what to do about this other than pray...but prayer is very difficult. I feel so very alone. Thank you.
