Romans 6: 6-7 (NLT)******BEING INVOLVED IN WOMEN'S MINISTRY and global missions means I hear people's life stories. Some are victorious; some aren't. **My heart breaks for Jesus followers who live trapped in destructive attitudes and behaviors such as fear, jealousy, unforgiveness, pride, lust, greed, and gluttony. Some recognize their plight and seek biblical counseling to break free. Others seem content to live as captives of the enemy.***I can relate. For several years my physical appetite held me hostage. I overate three times a day and gorged on junk food in secret, all while struggling with obesity. I knew gluttony was sin, but I felt helpless to stop.**I identified with Paul, who wrote, "I love God's law with al my heart. But there is another law at work within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin & death?" (ROMANS 7:22-24, NLT).***Paul answered his own question: "Thank God! The answer is in gluttony when I finally acknowledged that Christ's work on Calvary ended sin's control over me. Allowing it to defeat me was akin to saying His death was not enough.***Jesus's suffering and resurrection have empowered me to say no to temptation and to make wise choices. I am free. "At about three o'clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, My God, why have You abandoned me?" Matthew 27: 46 (NLT)***********"I CANNOT FATHOM THE PHYSICAL, mental, and emotional pain Jesus felt. His body crucified like the criminals hanging beside Him. His spirit crushed by the weight of the world's sin. He cried to His Father, "Why have You forsaken me?" In His deepest, darkest hour of need, He felt abandoned by His Father. What agony could compare? **Only once have I felt like God had removed Himself from me. A dear friend perceived something I'd said through her lens of her broken past and took offense. She cut me out of her life despite my repeated efforts to address the situation. I prayed, wept, and pleaded with God to restore our relationship, but nothing happened. "Where are You?" I cried one day. I heard only silence. ***Because Jesus suffered as He did, we have a Savior who feels our pain. He knows how quickly doubts and despair descend on us when we're facing a dark hour. Dear Lord please watch over my family. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions for my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, safety, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability and growth, and piece of mind to my family and me. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state. Help D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect for me , truthfulness, sense of being valued, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest. God please protect and heal J.J. and provide him with comfort and love he needs during this difficult time. Protect D.J. and all my friends and family from getting any colds and viruses. Heal those with the virus, protect those who come in contact with the virus, especially our healthcare workers, law enforcement, grocery/store and delivery workers, those with compromised immune systems, elderly, those with underlying health conditions, and military. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Make us both seek and maintain exclusivity with each other in this relationship in our thoughts and actions and be honest at all costs. Let us look to each other for support and love. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Allow us to have spontaneity and romantic thoughts/ gestures towards one another. Make us unselfish in our thoughts and gestures towards one another. May there be truth and honesty between us even in difficult situations. May we verbally express our love for each other and our true intentions towards growing as a couple. Protect him from getting any viruses, other health issues, and colds during this time. O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
