SAINT MAXIMILIAN KOLBE
Dear Christ, Saint Maximilian was imprisoned in Auschwitz where he ministered to the captives and celebrated Mass by consecrating bread and wine that had been smuggled in.
He was martyred after he voluntarily took the place of a young married prisoner condemned to die.
Since he's the patron saint of drug addicts and people in prison, I ask him to intercede for the inmates in our jails.
O Lord, heal their hearts and protect them from the evil that surrounds them. I also ask him to pray for the addicts in my family and my friends' families.
O Lord, set them free from the prison of their addictions.
Saint Maximilian, pray for us.

Along the way, we stopped at a picnic area above the Columbia River. Below was an island, a teardrop of forested land, punctuated with meadows and small structures. I was intrigued. On a whim, we detoured, taking a ferry along the river to the island's shore. Driving across the land, sparsely settled with historic houses. I wondered about the rugged individuals who called the place home. My special thanks to You today are for granting us, in our lives, an exceptional help for all Christians, Mary, the blessed Immaculate Virgin mother of Your Son Jesus. In the name of Your Son Jesus, and with the petition of the Virgin Mother, I pray and plead that the world will build a bond of unity in the body of Christ to establish global peace. Amen.
Lord, please let my son get the classes he needs and let him enjoy his senior year without uncertainty, worry, and strife. Please let him get into the colleges of his choice and succeed in whatever he wishes to do. Bless and protect him always. Amen.

Please pray for me and my husband. My husband has been ill for over two weeks with a virus--not the coronavirus but a virus. With doctor appointments and cleaning required to prevent the spread of the virus, we need your prayers. We are doing better but the anxiety and physical work to prevent the virus; has worn us down. We thank you in advance for your prayers and are happy to be supporters of The Sunday Mass. Again, thank you so much and may the good Lord watch over us all.
I am so lost. I don't know how to express myself. My family is going thru hard time. I need prayers for help for us to stay at peace in my home with my spouse and my children. Especially for unforgiven past wrong doings.

I'm getting ready for a road trip visiting friends, as I make my way through beautiful New England. The images of the fox burrowing in his hole and the bird settling into her cozy nest remind me that I will miss how easy it is to fall asleep in my own bed. On the road, sleep itself is part of the adventure: going to bed at night has an uncertain quality to it. For me it doesn't always translate into a good night's sleep.*****but I am more than willing to give up this comfort of home as I head out of my travels. Jesus is saying, "Follow Me," and I'm ready to go!
