UNANSWERED PRAYERS
I asked for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I had asked for,
but everything that I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered;
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

Prayer for the Intercession of St. Padre Pio Dear God, You generously blessed Your Servant, St. Pio of Pietrelcina, with the gifts of the Spirit. You marked his body with the five wounds of Christ Crucified, as a Powerful witness to the saving Passion and Death of Your Son. Endowed with the gift of discernment, St. Pio labored endlessly in the confessional for the salvation of souls. With reverence and intense devotion in the celebration of Mass, he invited countless men and women to a greater union with Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Dear Lord I pray for the entire Halbreich Family as they struggle with one illness after another. That Rona’s cancer be controlled and eventually cured, that Michael’s back problems and infections be cured and his pain lessened and improved, that my wife Linda’s heart and kidney and blood work problems and her multiple illnesses be controlled so that she can live a peaceful and happy life, that Jackie’s issues with migraines and mental issues be cured; that Samantha remain on course to overcome her addiction and remain well, lastly that the entire Family be granted peace of mind, health and prosperity.
