for what has been achieved we give you thanks, for the work that still remains we ask your help, and as you have called us from many peoples to be one nation, grant that, under your providence, our country may share your blessings with all the peoples of the earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Dear Father God, I humbly pray for myself and my families and friends across the world to have peace, joy, wisdom, strength, love, humility, courage, and reverence for you this new year. I also pray for the whole world and especially for the USA. I also pray for Pope Francis and all of the clergy that they may continuously serve You with piety and obedience of your will. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. Today at 5:20 PM my husband James passed away from cancer. My prayer is to have God let him know I am trying hard my best to keep his spirit alive by being a good persons to others. I pray that God will let persons who are suffering from cancer, and the persons who love them, strong in the belief that because Jesus was resurrected from the dead, a person doesn't really die, their love just takes a different form, so they can always be with the persons who love them and miss them.
