Dear Lord please watch over my Mom and daughter. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions for my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability and growth, and piece of mind to my family and me. Keep me safe, healthy, and protected. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state., Help D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect for me , truthfulness, sense of being valued, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest. God please protect and heal J.J. and provide him with comfort and love he needs during this difficult time. Protect D.J. and all my friends and family from getting any colds and viruses. Philippians 1: 10 (NLT)*********"I HAVE THRITEEN-YEAR-OLD AND TEN-YEAR-OLD boys. Pierce my bright, witty, and athletic older one, is starting middle school and is showing signs of "tween-itude." My nine-year-old Isaac, a joy and fun-filled fellow with Down syndrome, presents some unique challenges that are somewhat less predictable. ** I read parenting books, swap strategies with pals, and pray a lot. I mostly just do my best. Some days I feel like a pretty good mom-just the right balance of loving discipline, attention, and fun. Other days, I feel like a failure. I know this is normal. ***My particular challenge when it comes to parenting is control. I've struggled with this, but it can look pretty awful with my kids. I catch myself adopting a harsh, graceless tone. I hate it and apologize. I've found solace from someone who knows what it's like. I once heard a lady preacher, who was a single mom to four boys, express similar frustration and self-loathing. Jesus granted her a sweet insight that she used whenever she remembered. She'd pause and ask, "God, is this bothering You or just me?" ***In other words, does this behavior, choice, activity, bother You or just me, Lord? Now I ask myself, Does it matter if my older boy wears flip-flops to church? Does Jesus care if his clothes don't match? Is Jesus concerned that Isaac plays with a toy in an unconventional way? How much correcting and relentless nagging could I avoid if I asked this simple question and humbly listened for the answer? The little girl who designed a bracelet to raise funds to help pay for a friend's lung transplant. The eleven-year-old who returned his Christmas presents so he could purchase gifts for children of the incarcerated. The four-year-old hero who asked his parents to take all the money he earned as an allowance and what they would normally spend on toys for him, so he could buy chicken sandwiches for the homeless, who he served personally while wearing a superhero cape, telling each recipient, "Don't forget to show love." The grieving mom who-days after her daughter died following a long battle with cancer-sat in a hospital waiting room crocheting hats for the premature babies, praying for each one with each stitch. The readers who write to say, "I pray for each of you who write a Morning with Jesus devotion. **Such compassion! Such beautiful gifts! Jesus would be so proud. Jesus is proud. Today's verse from the book of Acts refers to Cornelius, a Roman centurion who was single out for special assignment because his" prayers and compassionate acts" were noticed and applauded by heaven. His generosity and caring heart-which no doubt to him seemed simple things-effectively rose as the fragrance of memorial offering to the Holy One. **Jesus's life was consumed with prayer and compassionate acts.
