Eternal Creator, in Your heavenly garden, everything is perfect and serene. It is peaceful and glorious as befits a Supreme Divinity beyond compare. I pray and hope that one day I may be in Your garden. In the meantime, in my earthly garden, I enjoy its beauty which I offer to You. Lately, my poor garden fell unkempt for various reasons. In Jesus’ name who reigns with You in Your heavenly garden, I beg, Abbā, help Chris and his team restore my poor garden. Let it, minutely, resemble Yours. Amen.

He had served valiantly in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing for explosives saving hundreds of lives, until the day he was blown off his feet by mortar fire. After that experience, Ddoc became fearful and hid under a bunk in the army tent. He was retired from duty. I learned all this as I was interviewing the woman, an army sergeant in North Carolina, who had adopted him.***I can't pretend to understand the trauma of war, but in a way I thought I understood a little bit of Ddoc's anguish. I am a worrier Truth be told, I worry a lot more than what pleases the good Lord. If I let my worries grow, they can figuratively blow me off my feet.***I looked down at my notes. The woman I was interviewing said Ddoc was diagnosed with PTSD. yES, EVEN MILITARY DOGS CAN GET USEFUL LIFE. tHROUGHT LOVE AND SUPPORT, HE REGAINED HIS STRENGTH AND CONFIDENCE. hE DIDN'T GO BACK TO THE FRONT BUT WEN ON TO DO AMAZING WORK WITH SOLDIERS WHO SUFFER FROM THE SAME DISORDER.******* It can be that way for us as well. God can still use us in our brokenness. We just have to be open to His love and support. Gradually I'm learning that trusting God is a whole lot better than worrying. If Ddoc could find his strength again, then surely so can I. Psalm 42:5 (AMP)*********"IT'S ALMOST SUMMER AND "THE LIVING" is supposed to be "easy," according to George Gershwin song "Summertime." but sometimes it's not so easy. I'm off work every summer, and ever summer I have a battle in my mind. In the last few weeks several famous people have committed suicide. Every time I hear about suicide, I am reminded of my teenage and young adult years when I longed to die. I was hopeless. It wasn't until Jesus came into my life at the age of twenty-six that I began to look at life through a lens of hope. ***Having Jesus as my Savior, knowing He is with me and that He cares for me, gives me strength. His presence helps me fight when my mind wants to focus on regrets, failures, shortcomings, and all manner of negativity. Those negative thoughts trouble me the most when I am not working. That's why it's necessary for me to be even more vigilant about focusing on the words of Jesus during the summer. I have to find a way to stay busy. So this summer I'm delighted to have the chance to write. It give me purpose and draws me closer to Him.****It is humbling and awesome honor to be able to refocus negative thoughts into hopeful thoughts in Jesus. I think of His goodness toward me and His promises to me. I begin to praise Him for His help and His presence. Because Jesus lives, I have hope for the future, and I can face the summer.
