Father James Price, C.P.

Father James Price, C.P. is originally from Carbondale, Pennsylvania and is the son of Joseph and Barbara Price of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania and was educated in St. Rose Grade School and Sacred Heart High School. In 1983 he entered the Passionist pre-novitiate college program. He professed his first vows as a Passionist in 1989. He studied at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and earned a Masters of Divinity degree in 1993. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1994.

After ordination Father Jim was a Parochial Vicar at Immaculate Conception Monastery Church in Jamaica, NY and served as Province Vocation Director from 1997 to 2000. Fr. Jim was appointed Retreat Director of Bishop Molloy Passionist Retreat House in Jamaica, NY in 2000 and served in that capacity until his election as First Consultor in May, 2006. Since 2001 Fr. Jim has also served as Sunday assistant at Good Shepherd Parish, Marine Park, Brooklyn, St. Helen's parish, Howard Beach and St. Kevin's parish, Flushing, NY. Since his time as Vocation director Fr. Jim has also been engaged in preaching missions and retreats and scripture study programs.
